Lights

I have been looking into using lights and decorations for our stall:

I went to the warehouse and all I could find in terms of lights were lanterns (10 in a pack $20 each) and little candles. The lanterns could be useful but our group would prefer white light/yellow rather than multiple colours as well as this it is a little expensive for how much there is and there is no use with the little lamps. Christmas/fairy lights are not on sale yet as it is not the season therefore we will have to look into other places. We can also get lanterns from typo that are white but again similar price so might be too expensive for how much we buy.

Copper wire lights: I have some Fairy lights ordered from a fairy store in Christchurch. They are made from very thin copper wire therefore may be a bit delecite to hang above us but we can try it out. When lights are on it just looks like copper wire but when the lights are off they can look quite magical. They straighten out to be more the 2 metres, all I have is one set, but my friend that has them is selling them for $10 a set. They are battery powered therefore will save electricity for the school and since we have to share powerpoints are useful if there is not enough room.

Since fairy lights are out of season the best option is to go to trademe where we can get around 20mt of fairy lights for $20 if we wish to have the roof piece. I have researched ways of decorating them to which we can put decorated paper cups on each light or pingpong balls to make them pretty and look like lanterns if we wish. If we want to do this we will have to test it out so it is not a fire hazard (I am not sure if it will last the market place time without burning up). Here are the lights I was thinking of, the way we want to put them on the roof, and what it would look like with the decorations on the lights- retreived from websites:

Other forms of decorations I have been looking into are ping pong balls on the lights, or disposable cups, I am a little worried as to how long these lights will last though as they might burn the balls or cups. I have heard the other groups in the dark room have black lights meaning we could look at ways to compliment this as too much light from our stall may cancel out the black lights
