Blog Migration

We have decided to migrate our blog from Facebook to Blogger; someone recommended this as they said fit can be hard for tutors to access them from Facebook.

Instead of transferring all the posts I'll just summarise what has been going on over the 5 weeks...

Week 2: Our ideas for the market place included on-selling promotional material from existing businesses (coffee samples etc); a pop up store that sells all sorts of stuff; making our own products from recycled materials; and refurbishing existing furniture.

We liked the furniture idea and began exploring the idea of creating 'Flat Furniture'. Cheap to produce furniture for students to furnish their flats with.

Some other ideas that we developed were to give people the opportunity to add to a mural that would be donated to charity, and a learning experience where you teach people how to make something new.
Going into week three, we decided to pitch the ideas of the make a wish concept, and a DIY craft station where you could make either a terrarium or a lamp (see post below).

We got a lot of votes on the DIY station ideas, but we needed to expand on them more so that there was more of a design process behind our project. We also didn't want to create anything too expensive, as a lot of people said they were just planning on bringing $10 to the market.
In week 4 we really started trying to look into developing the idea of the experience of making. By the end of our meetings we had come up with the concept of a stand where you could come and use random pieces of interconnecting 'bits' that could be made into lots of different things.

Notes from our meeting - Week 4
